How I Hacked College (and how you can too)🧑🏽💻
The Simple Ways I Made College a Piece of Cake😁
My relationship with public school was always a hate-hate relationship. I wasn’t fond of it, and it wasn’t fond of me.
I dreading having to spend hours at a desk, learning about information that was never going to be applicable in the real world. I was never the smartest either, and had to dedicate hours of time to keep my grades up.
In my first semester of college I got a C and B in two of my classes. As you can imagine, my first-generation immigrant parents nearly had a heart attack. I knew that something needed to change. I had it in me to do well in school, but didn't understand what was holding me back. Was it laziness? Discipline? My diet? Or was it my approach?
Fast forward to the end of my 3rd year, and my 3.23 GPA was now a 3.85. I graduated (one year early) with my Biology degree and took my Dental Admissions Test (DAT) that same summer, scoring a 24 which put me in the top 1% of test takers! Alhamdulillah, I got accepted into my top choice dental school, which I will be starting in a few weeks.
So what changed?
That’s the big question. That’s the question you’re probably struggling with in your own academic career.
You see, it wasn't that I necessarily became more disciplined, rather I was able to build effective habits and systems that made my goals easier to accomplish.
It's important to mention that I didn't spend all day studying. In fact, I never studied more than a few hours a day; even on exam weeks. I feel pity for people who brag about "studying 9 hours last night" or not being able to hang out because "I have to study all weekend."
Ask yourself honestly; "How much of that time am I actually studying? Is that time really being used on my assignments? Or am I giving myself the "illusion" of studying by flipping between random tabs on my laptop and sipping my latte?"
To be totally honest, I probably put the minimum amount of time into school that was required of me. My peers would spend their entire day studying while I was still able to go to the gym, play soccer, volunteer in my community, hang out with friends, and work on my passion of making videos.
Sure, I wasn’t valedictorian or “top of my class”.But the brutal truth is that stuff doesn’t matter in the real world. I still graduated in 3 years, got accepted into dental school, have healthy habits and a balanced lifestyle. I’m glad I didn’t slave away all my free time learning useless information that I’m never going to use. Instead, I doubled-down on the key factors that were helping me succeed and got rid of the ones that were holding me back.
If you can relate to “Freshmen-Year Moaaz” who was struggling with school and didn’t know how to balance it with the other aspects of life, then I have some good news for you.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve been reflecting over the most effective tools and resources that helped me in college. I compiled them all into a simple, rational guide called the “Student Success Manual”
If you follow the practical, yet important steps that I’ve layed out in this manual, you’ll start to comfortably score in the 90’s while still having time for the other things in life you truly enjoy; I guarantee it.
Don’t wait until the school year begins to buy this manual. There are valuable steps mentioned in the e-book that you need to take BEFORE the semester starts.

This will be you very soon inshallah
